Marie Cressley

Marie M. Cressley, 94, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away at Nelson’s Golden Years on Wednesday morning, April 3, 2024. She was born September 8, 1929, in Sykesville, PA, a daughter of the late Peter and Angeline (Sandy) DeMatz. She married James R. Cressley on June 14, 1952. He preceded her in passing on February 28, 2012. Marie graduated from the former Sykesville High School in 1947. She worked for Cameron Manufacturing and the Ben Franklin Store, both in Reynoldsville; retiring in 1999. Marie was an avid bingo player. Marie enjoyed traveling with family and would take trips to Salamanca with her sister, Laura, and brother in law, Al. She also enjoyed the family camping trips and al the family dinners with the Toney’s and all of her family. She really enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates. Marie is survived by a daughter, Carol A. (Steve) Curry of Reynoldsville; two grandchildren; April (Jonathan) and Steven. She is also survived by a sister, Laura Towns of Sykesville; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Zediak and a brother, Raymond P. Dematz. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 2pm to 5pm at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will take place on Monday, April 8, 2024, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00am and officiated by Pastor Rebecca Edwards.
