Anthony Joseph Caridi, 96, of Punxsutawney passed away peacefully at his home on December 23, 2018 in the company of his loving family.

Tony was born in 1922 in the town of Adrian, PA

He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Serge Caridi and his two sisters Frances Manco and Mary McGuire.  Tony is survived by his son Samuel Caridi of Punxsutawney, his daughter Carla Mantick (Mark) and grandchildren Sarah and Taylor of Zelienople, PA and his sister Rose Marie Ranieri of Punxsutawney.

Tony was senior vice president of retail banking at the Keystone National Bank for 43 years.  He was also president of the Jefferson County Bankers Association and chairman of Group VIII.

He was active in the community and served as president of the Jefferson County Unit for the American Cancer Society, treasurer of the Lions Club, president of Catholic Social Services, and treasurer of the Punxsutawney Country Club.

Tony was a Corporal in the United States Army during World War II.

In his spare time, Tony loved to garden, fish, hunt, and play golf.  He enjoyed meeting people, helping the needy, and telling stories of his life experiences to his grandchildren and family.  He will be greatly missed by all.

At the family’s request, there will be no viewing.  A funeral mass will be held at SSCD Church on Wednesday Dec. 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney, PA.
