John Francis Gresock, 86, of Punxsutawney, passed away peacefully at the Punxsutawney Area Hoepital on Thursday Dec. 17, 2020.

He was born on April 6, 1934 in Punxsutawney to Andrew Gresock and Clara Cerney  Gresock, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was also pre-deceased by his brother William H. Gresock and his sister, Annabelle Bobalik of Punxsutawney.

John is survived by one brother – Andrew Gresock of Punxsutawney and three sisters – Barbara Drury of Swartz Creek, MI, Mary Lou Gigliotti of Warren, PA and Marion Palmer of Corsica, PA.

He also has a stepson, Barry Headlee (Lydia) as well as a stepdaughter Sharon Heckler (Glen).

Additionally, he leaves a step-granddaughter Christine Covatch (Tim) and a step-grandson Glen Heckler Jr. (Tara). 

John was married to the love of his life, Dorothy L. Brown, of Pittsburgh, PA.   She preceded him in death. 

He was a member of the St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church of Punxsutawney.

John enjoyed spending special time with, Teddy,  his dog and favorite companion.  He also enjoyed spending quality time with all of his family.

Until retirement he was employed as a custodian in the Punxsutawney Area School District.

John’s funeral care has been entrusted to the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, 117 N. Jefferson St. in Punxsutawney, PA.

There will be a public visitation for family and friends from 2 PM – 4 PM on Monday, December 21, 2020.   There will also be a funeral ceremony and interment which will be private at the request of the family.

The funeral home requests that all visitors wear appropriate masks and maintain social distancing as per the latest mandates from Governor Wolf.   It is also mandatory that only 10 people will be permitted to visit at a given time although all visitors will be permitted to have time to say their final farewell to John. 

His family requests that any donations in John’s honor be made to the St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church of Punxsutawney. 714 Sutton Street, Punxsutawney, PA  15767
