Christian Gaston Obituary

Christian J. Gaston, 90, went to be with his Savior on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA

He was born December 26, 1923 in Rossiter, PA, the son of the late Tally and Catherine (Stambler) Gaston.

He graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1941

He served in the US Army during World War II in the 36th Calvary Mech Squad.

On July 7, 1944, he married Rosemary Flick, who survives.

He was a Life Member of the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Punxsutawney where he served in numerous offices and activities.

He was also Life Member of the Central Fire Department in Punxsutawney having served for 39 years.

He worked with his father in the Punxsutawney Chevrolet/Chrysler Dealership. After closing the dealership, he worked for the

US Army Reserves attaining the rank of Sergeant. He then worked for the Department of the Army of the United States Government. Afterwards he worked at Ragley's True Value Hardware and as a Dispatcher for the Punxsutawney Police Department.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary Janeen Harris and her husband Bob of Northeast, PA; two sons, Christian J.
Gaston, Jr of Long Beach, CA and Jeffry K. Gaston and his fiance, Judy Dammon of Sacremento, CA

He is also survived by 5 Grandchildren, Thomas Carr, Jr., Rebecca Lapp, Jared Gaston, Christian Andrew Gaston and Nicole Lundquist; and by 3 Great-Grandchildren, Jessica Carr, Samantha Carr, and Brendon Lapp.

Friends will be received at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6-8 PM

Full Military Honors by the US Army and the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard will be accorded at the funeral home on Friday everiing at 8:00 PM

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church in Punxsutawney, PA with Pastor Kenneth Zitsch officiating.

Interment will follow in Circle Hill Cemetery in Punxsutawney, PA
