Dolores Ann Smiley

Dolores Ann Smiley, 81, of Brookville, PA, passed away during the evening hours of Tuesday, May 10, 2022, after a short stay at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital. She was born on September 2, 1940, to the late Lester E. Smiley Sr., and Florence E. (Horm) Smiley in DuBois, PA. Dolores graduated from Brookville High School with the class of 1958. Dolores found a career in bookkeeping and accounting, more specifically for cemeteries in the area, until her retirement in 2007. Dolores was a spiritual woman who was Methodist by faith. Dolores loved games of chance, and really enjoyed visiting casinos and playing bingo. She enjoyed travelling, her favorite destination being Las Vegas, but also ventured around the country to visit with family. Dolores was a great cook and baker and made delicious meals enjoyed by her family and friends. She also bowled in her younger years and would make trays of cookies to take to her games. Dolores was a loving woman who will be missed by those closest to her. Dolores is survived by one son; David “Brian” Smiley of Oakdale, PA. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in passing by one sister; Betty Peace; and one brother; Lester E. Smiley Jr. Services will be held privately to the family and have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
