Dorothy Jean (Swab) Caltagarone

Dorothy Jean (Swab) Caltagarone, 92, of Reynoldsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor. Dorothy was born on August 4, 1930, to the late Jay M. and Lucilla A. (Weary) Swab. Dorothy married John D. Caltagarone in 1955; he preceded her in passing in June of 2003. Dorothy was mainly a homemaker but worked several jobs in the area over the years. Dorothy was a member of the Reynoldsville Grange. She also attended Soldier Community Church in Reynoldsville. She enjoyed going for morning walks. Dorothy is survived by two sons: James (Pamela) Caltagarone of Brookville; Timothy (Sherry) Caltagarone of Reynoldsville; one brother; James D. (Erma) Swab of Reynoldsville; one sister; Jane (Ronald) Lindemuth of Fredonia; two granddaugthers; Tracy (Frank) King of Reynoldsville; Lori (Brian) Bundy of Falls Creek; one grandson; Scott M. Caltagarone of Reynoldsville; four great-grandsons; and three great-great-grandsons. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy is preceded in death by three brothers; J. Robert Swab; Jacob H. Swab; Alvin E. Swab; three sisters; Julia Chatfield; Louise Swab; and Violet Hinman. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 4pm to 8pm, at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, also at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, beginning at 11am and officiated by Pastor Kevin Brooks.
