James "Jim" L. Barr Jr.

James “Jim” L. Barr Jr., 76, of Emerickville, PA, passed away during the morning hours of Thursday, February 8, 2024, while a resident of Penn Highland Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA. Jim was born on August 28, 1947, to the late James Lawson Barr Sr. and Helen Agnes (Lingenfelter) Barr in Brookville, PA. He graduated from Brookville Area High School with the Class of 1965. He worked for Brookville Wood Products for many years. Jim loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers and gardening. Jim could also be found watching Westerns on TV. Above all else, he loved to spend time with his sister and her family. Jim is survived by one sister; Sharon Lawrence; niece; Linda (Jim) Sterrett; great niece; Mckenna Sterrett; great nephew; Dylan Sterrett; great-great nephew; Ashton Sterrett; and numerous aunts, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in passing by his good friend; Gary Thomas. Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 2pm to 4pm, at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will be held immediately following the first viewing beginning at 4pm. A second viewing will be held later that evening on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm, also at the funeral home.
