Vera Joanne Lawson

Vera Joanne Lawson, formerly of Corsica, PA, walked into Heaven on April 8, 2024. Born in Oakmont, PA, on January 19, 1934, she was the daughter of Roy and Vera (Truesdale) Reibert. Joanne was welcomed into Heaven by her husband Bill Lawson with whom she had shared 68 years of marriage. Joanne was well known for her pie making talent and preparing large family dinners. Her specialty being the coveted Peanut Butter Pie. She also loved to travel. Some of her adventures took her to Bahamas, Haiti, Africa, Alaska, Tennessee, Arizona, Georgia, and South Carolina. Joanne and Bill loved their trips to Erie to pick peaches and cherries. But the main focus of Joanne’s life was caring for and raising 8 children and later adopting and raising 2 grandchildren. She was also the treasurer and secretary of her husband’s business, “Lawson Electric”. Joanne is survived by her children: Patti of Charleston, WV.; Amy McCall (Terry) of Lancaster, PA; Bonnie of Fayetteville, GA; Claude (Amy) of Corsica, PA; Robert of Brookville, PA; Steven of Evans City, PA; Elizabeth Ferroni of Seneca, PA, Jeremy (Sarann) of New Holland, PA and Sarah of Pittsburgh, PA; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, her son Bill, her grandson Mark, and her 5 brothers Bob, Joe, Bill, Ralph and Don. There is so much more that can be said of about this amazing woman who lived 90 years on this earth. She had the love of a great husband, love from all her children, many great friends and we want to celebrate her life by remembering all the wonderful memories of her. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 12pm to 2pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place immediately following the viewing, beginning at 2pm and officiated by Rev. J. Ray Baker.
