Kenneth (Jake) Charles Jacobson Jr, of Punxsutawney, PA, age 52, went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2020, surrounded by his loving family in his home during the final days of his battle with brain cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Chantelle L. (VonArx) Jacobson. His two daughters, Patience S. (Jacobson) Puketza, who’s married to Jared Puketza of Charlotte, NC, and Taylr L. (Jacobson) Kohr who’s married to Devin Kohr of Palm Bay, Florida, and his four grandsons, Liam and Landyn Kohr, and Carson and expected baby Puketza. He is preceded by one grandson, Mason Kohr.

Jake was born on September 23, 1967, in Punxsutawney, Pa. and is the eldest son of Kenneth and Linda (Richardson) Jacobson Sr. Jake was a devoted Christian and was the youth group leader at Chestnut Grove Independent Church. He also worked as the machine shop foreman at Acme Machine in Punxsutawney, Pa. When he wasnt at work, in the woods hunting, or fixing something, he was found spending time with his wife, children, and grandsons. He was the rock in the family and always led by his Godly example.  He will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. His strength and Godly peace during these last 8 months have been inspiring.  He knew who he was and where he was going; that kind of strength can only come by the faith he had. This isnt the healing that was prayed for, but he has received the greatest healing a Christian can ask for, to be in heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A celebration of life will be held at Chestnut Grove Independent Church on February 22, 2020. His family knows that Jake was loved by many in the community but ask the public to respect the family during this time, as the celebration of life is only for his beloved family and his church family. Cards or flowers can be sent to the church in his name.

Jake’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney, PA.

Hearing this news about Jake truly saddens me. We were almost inseparable when we were growing up... and then somehow, life got in the way of all that as we got older. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the entire family. May you all somehow find peace and comfort knowing that he is now in a better place.

To the Jacobson Family, I am thinking of you and praying for all of you.
I was one of the steadfast 16 in our Parkview elementary school days and Jake was a huge part of my childhood. When we were old enough to ride our bikes, we were in and out of each other’s homes like one huge extended family from Anita Park to the fields of panic behind Dickey's or the Jacobson's. Summers during our elementary days until 7th grade were the best a kid could ask for and those friendships keep a place in your heart no matter where we all ended up later in life. We were planning a Parkview class get together this summer before our 35th class reunion that was going to be tough without Sandy Carlson, whom we lost a couple years ago, but feels unimaginable now without Jake. Time and distance got in the way and you think you always have time to tell your heart long friends what they mean to you. Jake was always just so sweet and good to the core and I am not surprised that he never changed. Jake was like a brother and with our shared faith I believe we will meet again in God's time. I am just so sorry we lost touch and all the times I wanted to stop at his parents’ house in my travels back home from Harrisburg. I just wanted his wife and kids to know that Jake was just as awesome as a kid to his friends and classmates. Such a difficult time for you now but I do know that the good happy memories will come back and overtake this sadness. And, prayers will not stop for all of you in the meantime. I was planning to make the trip back home to honor Jake but certainly will respect the families wishes knowing you are all close in thought. In God's Love, "Marti" Jarbeck

Jake and I were never close, but I always liked him - how could you not? We were in home room together every year in school, and he was always smiling, laughing, and loved. As I am now a follower of Christ, it's a joy to know that Jake was as well, and that I will see that smiling face again when the Lord calls me home.
My sincerest condolences to the family he left behind. May the peace of the Almighty rest upon you, and may His joy deliver you through this sorrow.
